Philips turns to email to promote 'sensual massager'

LONDON - Philips has launched a direct marketing campaign to promote its range of 'sensual massagers' for Christmas.

WDMP has created an email campaign that communicates different messages to men and women.

Taking the form of a letter to Father Christmas, the female-oriented email copy asks Santa for "trembles, quivers, ooohs, mmmms and a yes yes yes!!!".

The male letter asks for "shudders, jolts, groans and more more more!!!"

The emails were targeted at couples who have signed up adult content websites.

Sandra Doyle, CRM Manager of Philips, said the campaign "evokes the right attitudes surrounding sex by removing the stigma and stereotypes that have previously shrouded the market."
