Philips to sponsor CNN live webcast on ageing

LONDON - CNN is to host a debate that will be streamed live on CNN.com looking at the issue of the ageing population and living longer, sponsored by Philips.

The debate is called 'The Search for Immortality', and will be headed by Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent. Internet users will be invited to submit questions to be addressed by the panel of aging experts: Dan Buettner and Aubrey de Grey.

The debate is to be accessible by a global audience and starts at 12 noon GMT on Monday 30 November.

Nick Wrenn, vice-president of digital services at CNN International, said: "By enabling online users to pose questions to Dr Gupta and top field experts, we are aiming to create an experience that is both interactive and informative."
