Peter Andre's ITV2 show outshines Channel 4 and BBC Two

LONDON - ITV2 scored 1.7m viewers last night with the start of its reality TV series following Peter Andre after his split from wife Katie Price, according to unofficial overnight figures.

'Peter Andre: Going It Alone' gathered an 8.1% share of viewing over its 9pm-10.30pm run, with the audience tailing off during the last half-hour.

ITV2 will also be following Price in 'What Katie Did Next' from Thursday August 27, starting with an hour-long show at 9pm.

More people tuned into the digital channel than watched terrestrial channels Channel 4 and BBC Two at 9pm-10pm last night.

The audience for Channel 4's 'On Tour With The Queen' documentary dropped by around a fifth from last week to 1.3m viewers.

The second part of the series, which marks the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth with a look at the Queen's past visits to the colonies, got a 5.9% share and was seen by just 45,000 viewers on its repeat outing on Channel 4+1.

Having debuted last week with 1.7m viewers and a 7.7% share, it has two more parts to go before concluding.

BBC Two offered new documentary 'Future of Food', which is a three-parter presented by George Aligiah. It earned 1.7m viewers and a 7.5% share.

Five brought in an audience of 1.9m, down from 2.1m last week, and an 8.7% share with 'The Hotel Inspector'.

ITV1 earned 2.5m and an 11.2% share with comedy drama 'Monday Monday', but the slot was won by the final episode of BBC One drama 'The Street'.

The Jimmy McGovern-penned series finished with 4.4m viewers and a 19.9% share.
