Peter Andre to perform at Radio Advertising Awards

LONDON - Singer Peter Andre is set to perform at the Radio Advertising Awards taking place at The Room on London's South Bank this Thursday.

Andre will perform material from his new album 'Revelation', which was released yesterday.

The awards, which are run by the Radio Advertising Bureau and supported by Haymarket, Brand Republic's owner, celebrates the best in radio advertising and recognises the best radio campaigns from the last year in terms of both creativity and effective planning.

Andre said: "I'm really excited about performing live again -- radio has always been a great supporter of my work so I'm delighted to be playing at the Radio Advertising Awards."

The was announced last month, with WPP's MediaCom and creative agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO each receiving five nominations.

Interpublic media agency UM, formerly Universal McCann, received three nominations -- for best use of radio to drive awareness (Intel), best use of radio to drive consideration (UPS) and best use of radio to drive response (UPS).

Simon Redican, managing director of the RAB, said: "It's gearing up to be a great night -- we've got some fantastic entries shortlisted and with Peter now confirmed, we're ready to roll."

The event is being hosted by Absolute Radio's breakfast host Christian O'Connell.
