The agreement reportedly allows FCB employees -- barring a few who were key to the Pepsi business -- to work on Coke's bottled-water brand Dasani and Powerade. Work will begin on December 20.
FCB Chicago held, until recently, the accounts for Pepsi's rival water brand Aquafina, as well as Gatorade. It lost the work when Pepsi consolidated its ad agencies, mainly with Omnicom Group-owned companies. When Coke awarded the agency its Dasani account, Pepsi sought an injunction preventing staff involved with Aquafina from working on the Coke brand for two years.
Pepsi won its case and Coke responded by moving Dasani and Gatorade back to their old ad agencies -- Berlin, Cameron & Partners and Wieden & Kennedy respectively.
However, this new agreement sees the timescale reduced significantly, with the FCB employees who did work on the Aquafina brand now only barred from the Dasani account until June next year.
FCB is part of the Interpublic Group of Companies.
