Pepsi wins bar on FCB executives

NEW YORK - PepsiCo's bid to stop Foote Cone & Belding executives working on Coca-Cola's Dasani bottled water brand has been successful.

The ruling has not been made available from the court in Illinois, where a temporary restraining order had been granted against four employees of FCB who had formerly worked on Pepsi's Aquafina bottled water brand. However, PepsiCo said that the judge had found that the company "has a protectable business interest in preserving the confidentiality of its trade secrets and confidential information".

FCB lost out on $350m (£241m) in Pepsi business, including the Quaker Oats brand, when the food and beverages giant consolidated its advertising into Omnicom.

The agency fought back by winning some Coca-Cola business -- including the Dasani brand central to the court case, as well as Minute Maid juices. Coca-Cola consolidated most of its advertising into the Interpublic Group of Companies, which owns FCB.
