LONDON (Brand Republic) – True North has cleared the way for the 300 FCB Worldwide staff who worked on the DaimlerChrysler account to apply for jobs at rival agency BBDO Worldwide, which won the car manufacturer’s entire $2.4bn business last month.
The account was previously shared between the two agencies. BBDO’s new PentaMark Worldwide division, set up to handle the entire DaimlerChrysler account, said it would hire DaimlerChrysler staff if it won the two-way fight.
FCB’s president and chief executive officer Mike Vogel is currently negotiating leaving the agency to head up the PentaMark unit.
It is thought only 100 jobs are available at PentaMark and FCB staff who do not win places will be made redundant.
