, which went live on Friday, allows customers to search and choose local restaurants, select food from the online menus and order takeaways, home deliveries or make a table reservation.
Users can choose to pay on delivery/collection or by credit or debit card. Their orders are sent to the restaurant (by fax) within seconds of ordering and a confirmation is emailed to the customer together with the restaurant's telephone number and a delivery/collection time.
Restaurateurs pay a joining fee of £199, which includes rent-free terminal, plus a commission of up to 12% on all meals ordered through the service.
Andrew Frisby, a Bethesden-based businessman who launched the site, owns several other enterprises including leaflet distribution company Dor-2-Dor. He will use his own teams of local distributors to deliver a million leaflets in Kent to promote the site.
Frisby said: "Using OrderOnlineNow means no more hunting for lost telephone numbers and menus, hurried calls to rushed restaurant employees, transcription errors or engaged tones. And, best of all, no cooking and no washing up."
The system is free to use and does not require registration, however there are additional benefits available to members.
Members can write customer reviews and rank restaurants with the ratings for quality, service and value, as well as bookmark favourite restaurants and add personal notes.
They can also elect to receive regular newsletters about new restaurant openings and special offers and can recommend restaurants that do not yet appear on the site.
