Emmi is looking for a media agency to handle the planning and buying for its range of cheese, coffee and yoghurt brands across Europe and the US.

It is understood that Emmi has shortlisted up to four agencies, with pitches taking place over the coming weeks. MEC has not been asked to repitch.

The appointed agency will work with Emmi on its global planning and buying, with a view to growing the company’s business in the UK and the US.

Onken, which Emmi bought in 2010 from the German food company Dr Oetker, appointed Karmarama as its first retained ad agency in September 2011 to create a multimedia campaign ahead of a relaunch of the brand.

Other Emmi-owned brands include the premixed coffee drink Caffè Latte and the cheese brand Kaltbach.
