One Great George Street to help out Government events

Event space One Great George Street (OGG) has launched a cost saving package aimed at government organised events in the face of public sector cuts.

"Government departments are now so cost conscious, that many are asking if delegates can bring their own sandwiches to meetings," said OGG director of sales and marketing, Wendy Greenhalgh.

"Two years back the government departments would book without even asking the price, now they have very strict budgets. We have seen a significant focus on catering costs, guests are asking for a daily delegate rate without lunch and a two hour meeting rather than a full day."

Greenhalgh adds the venue is getting continued reports of uncertainty and that the hung parliament and public sector budget cuts "threw a real spanner in the works".
