The largest proportion of tickets, 90%, are priced at £100 or under, with two thirds falling under £50 and 2.5 million under £20.
However, spectators hoping to catch some of the finals will have to pay up to £725, with tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies costing in excess of £2,000.
Up to 8.8 million tickets - 800,000 more than previously announced - will go on sale in March 2011, 75% of which will be made available to the public through the application process.
There will be 649 separate ticketed sessions across the 26 sports during the Olympic Games,
Locog is currently introducing a range of initiatives to make tickets as accessible as possible young people and will make more tickets than any other Olympic Games available to disabled people.
"When we won the right to stage the Games, we made a promise to inspire young people to choose sport and our ticket prices will get as many young people as possible to the Games," said London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe.
"The 1.3 million tickets in the Pay Your Age scheme and the London 2012 Ticketshare scheme reflect this ambition, and the fact that we will offer 2.5 million tickets at £20 or under will also deliver this aim," he added.
The London 2012 ‘Sign Up’ programme was launched earlier this year. So far more than 1.7 million people have signed up.
