Of the staggering number of workers around 2,000 come from London 2012’s host boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich.
A further 6,243 of the workers are beavering away on the Park site, while 4,090 are producing the Olympic Village.
"The Olympic Park and Village ‘big build’ are on track thanks to the hard work of everyone on the site," said Olympic Delivery Authority chairman John Armitt.
"In a tough time for the construction industry we are providing jobs for over 10,000 workers and meeting our commitments to safety, training and employing local people and apprentices."
