The charity commissioned two case study inserts, entitled "Actual Size" and "You Can", which tell the story of a four-year-old boy called Jack and his experience of child abuse.
The "You Can" insert, which also features two children called Jay and Amy, emphasises that many children are not old enough to tell adults if they are being abused, and calls for readers to support its work by donating £2 a month.
Jay's words read: "I can't stop my guitar teacher making me feel scared."
Lisa Williams, appeals manager at NSPCC, explains in the insert that 32,000 children in the UK are at risk from child abuse today, but making a donation could make a difference.
The NSPCC said for tactical reasons it could not confirm which titles the inserts would appear in, but that they would feature in national newspapers and women's magazines.
In June, the charity announced that it had appointed GB Group to help increase contributions from its existing donor database.
