NSPCC releases new DRTV push for donations

LONDON – A new NSPCC DRTV ad from WWAV Rapp Collins, highlighting the isolation of abused children, will air for the first time tomorrow.

Appearing on a range of terrestrial and digital channels, the ad asks viewers to call or go online to donate £2 a month to help the charity stop child abuse.

It opens with an eight-year-old girl sitting alone in a park on a swing, with a voiceover by 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' actor Juliet Stevenson saying: "Katie doesn't think anyone can stop her abuser coming into her room at night".

A seven-year-old boy is then shown kicking a football against a bridge as the voiceover continues: "Alex doesn't know who can stop the violence that waits for him at home".

In another scene, the camera holds a close-up on a crying baby before panning back to show that she is in an empty room.

Marian Rose, the NSPCC's head of direct donor marketing, said: "Abused children can feel completely alone. Through supporting the work of the NSPCC, viewers can help provide the support that abused children so desperately need."

Stevenson donated her voiceover free and the ad's score was especially composed by Alex Nicholls-Lee from Scramble. Media buying was through WWAV Rapp Collins Media.
