NSPCC appoints GB Group to boost donations

LONDON - The NSPCC has appointed GB Group to help increase donations from existing and new donors.

GB Group says it will employ a range of name and address matching, cleansing and suppression processes on the charity's vast marketing database. This will include the use of its National Register to clean and enhance donor records.

As part of this process, the company will supply new addresses for people who have moved, and delete deceased and duplicate information.

GB Group will also highlight any donors who have signed up to the Direct Marketing Association's Telephone Preference Service to ensure that only those who have agreed to receive marketing-related calls will be contacted.

David Hambling, database manager at the NSPCC, said: "Our database is the foundation for all our marketing activity -- every single day we rely on the information within it to make contact with thousands of existing and potential donors.

"GB Group has a strong track record of working with major national charities and its support will enable us to produce effective and cost-efficient campaigns."

Richard Law, chief executive of GB Group, said: "The NSPCC relies on the support of the general public for 85% of its funding -- without this support, the charity would have to close its services within six months.

"To reap the rewards of its hard hitting and highly successful donor campaigns, the NSPCC must rely on a bedrock of accurate donor data -- and we will be making sure the charity has access to this by using our National Register database."

As well as working with the NSPCC, GB Group also works with a number of other charities including the RSPB, Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Salvation Army.
