NowWashYourHands unleashes Slaps viral game

LONDON - UK design agency NowWashYourHands is targeting journalists with a viral awareness campaign.

The campaign consists of a computer game called , which is based on the playground game where you stand face to face with a partner and attempt to slap their hand before they slap yours. It was designed by creative director Tim Spears.

The email encourages recipients to send the game on to their friends or as a way of whiling away a spare half-an-hour in the office.

"We've created it as a bit of fun, beyond what the clients dictate, to see what interest it sparks," Spears said.

The company, which launched in 1999 as an internet portal for designers, became a design agency in 2001 and now lists clients such as BBC, Camelot, MTV and Fox Kids among others. It has already designed a computer game as part of Tesco's Classrooms campaign.

While Slaps was created solely as a promotional tool, director of new business Glen Conybeare would not rule out selling it: "If there was a bidder we'd be interested," he said.
