NME Radio, operated under licence from IPC by Xfm founder Sammy Jacob's audiovisual company DX Media, was previously available in London on FM on a short-term basis and on DAB in London since May.

The station launched on Sky, Virgin Media and through NME.com in June 2008 and has been available on Freesat since August of that year.

Sammy Jacob, NME Radio managing and programming director, said: "Since launch, NME Radio has strived to increase distribution with constant requests for the station to be made available nationally on DAB.

"We are, therefore, delighted with this development as it will significantly increase the opportunity to listen to the station across the country."
