NME links with iTunes to launch video podcasts

LONDON - NME.com has signed a deal with iTunes to offer free to download video podcasts of footage of top bands including the Foo Fighters and Muse.

ITunes will house over 50 NME Video podcasts, featuring interviews with big names from this year's festival season, with other top names on offer including Iggy Pop, Kings of Leon, The Kooks and Dizzee Rascal.

NME.com is also launching a video channel, making available all of NME Video's interviews in one place on the site, with over 100 to choose from.

At recent festivals NME has interviewed top acts including Metallica just moments before they go on stage, making the video footage available to view by the time the band starts playing.

Anthony Thornton, editor-in-chief of IPC Ignite Digital, said: "NME.com has always had its heart in video from way back in 1999. After a massive summer of interviews with some of the most exciting artists of 2007 music fans can leave their computers behind and see them on the move."

Conor McNicholas, NME editor, said: "NME.com is already famous for creating world-class video content and now we have a world-beating archive. Our new video services mean music fans will be able to mine a rich seam of interviews and more from all their favourite bands."
