
Kids on their Easter break will be able to take part in free themed activities including a limbo challenge, snail slalom racing and tutorials on how to pull off pranks.
Nickelodeon is also giving away limited-edition copies of SpongeBob Magazine and a family trip to Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
The 15 venues involved include Newcastle's Metrocentre, Manchester's Trafford Centre and the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. Selected Intu centres will also have a lifesize Spongebob on hand to greet fans of the cartoon.
Trevor Pereira, commercial and digital director of Intu, said: "We've had great fun working with Nickelodeon to create a fun-packed programme of activities for children to enjoy making intu a must visit destination through the holiday for SpongeBob fans.
"By doing this we're encouraging our customers to stay with us for longer and visit more often, helping our retailers to flourish," he added.
Marianne James, VP consumer products UK&I and European retail sales and marketing Nickelodeon and Viacom consumer products, said: "SpongeBob's optimism and his sense of fun are infectious and Intu have done a brilliant job of distilling the essence of our favourite yellow sponge into really fun family activities.
"Whether it's learning some hysterical pranks ... or meeting SpongeBob himself, visitors are bound to be tickled by what's on offer," she added.
Previous cartoon characters to descend on Intu's stores include Dennis the Menace and Snoopy, who ahead of the release of Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie.
