The Beano will take over Intu centres across the school holidays. It will target its young audience with the likes of arts and crafts sessions, kids’ club activities and prank workshops.
Adults will also be able to participate in author readings from The Diaries of Dennis the Menace writer Steven Butler and comic master classes from The Beano cartoonist Kev Sutherland.
To complement the hi-jinx activity, The Beano is running a national competition in association with Intu offers one winner the chance to appear with a friend as characters in the iconic comic. To enter, customers have been asked to share images on Facebook of their ‘own menances’ alongside a dedicated hashtag.
Roger Binks, customer experience director of Intu, said: "Kids are going to love The Beano takeover. The Beano is a much-loved comic and whether you’re a child or an adult its sense of fun and cheekiness is something we can all relate to.
"This is Intu at its best, creating a one of a kind experience to put smiles on the faces of our customers and ensuring our centres are the place to be all summer long."
