The brand will host the festival as part of the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On Weekend, which is taking place on 3-4 September.
The activation has been designed for children aged four to 15. Guests can expect two immersive live shows featuring music and entertainment, hands-on activities, games, appearances from famous Nickelodeon characters and lots of slime.
The experience’s live shows will take place at the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, with the outdoor festival staged at the Switch-On arena at the Tower Festival Headland. Highlights from Slimefest will be broadcast on the Nickelodeon UK channel later in September.
Slimefest originally debuted in Australia in 2012 and launched in Spain last year. The first Italian Slimefest is set to take place on Sunday (28 February).
Alan Musa, vice-president, commercial director at Viacom International Media Networks, said: "Nickelodeon is a perfect fit with Blackpool’s family market and we look forward to staging the UK’s first Slimefest event in Blackpool over the 2016 Switch-On Weekend. The shows and free outdoor festival will add a completely new dimension to the biggest date in Blackpool’s tourism calendar."
