
The Digital Media Group directs all News Corp digital activity around MySpace, gaming portal IGN, online ad platform Fox Audience Network, photo-sharing portal Photobucket, religious website Beliefnet, and the Fox Mobile Group.
As general counsel and executive vice-president of business affairs, Fawcett will oversee business and legal affairs for the new group. He will retain his existing responsibilities as president of digital media for Fox. He previously played a key role in the formation and launch of Hulu, the online video venture backed by News Corp, NBC and Disney.
Jack Kennedy has been named executive vice-president of operations. He most recently served as executive vice- president of strategy and corporate development at Fox Interactive Media, where he led the company's mergers and acquisitions activity.
Jorge Espinel has been appointed executive vice-president of strategy and corporate development. Most recently, he was a partner at investor Velocity Interactive Group.
In addition, Hemanshu Nigam will serve as the Digital Media Group's senior vice-president of safety, security and privacy. He joined Fox Interactive Media in 2006 as chief security officer.
Completing the hires, Roy Bahat has been promoted to the role of president of IGN Entertainment. Bahat will continue in his role as operational head of IGN's video game and entertainment properties.
