The Birmingham and Solihull-based Group made an overall operating profit of £36.5m in the period up to 31 March this year.
Despite the Group's exhibition business being up 6.6% on last year, profits fell by around 3%.
More encouragingly, the Arenas and The Ticket Factory delivered record turnover of £20.7m, resulting in an operating profit of £4.9m - up 16.7% on 2007/08.
The biggest achiever, however, was The ICC, which saw its operating profit rise by 21.4% up to £6.8m, thanks to its increasing level of profit from the Group's management contract for The Convention Centre Dublin, which opens in September 2010.
"These are a good set of financial results, with record profits from The Arenas and Ticket Factory and The ICC," said John Hornby, The NEC Group's chief operating officer.
"The exhibition business delivered an acceptable result as incredibly tough trading conditions started to bite.
"However, we are planning for 2009/10 to be a very challenging financial year. General economic and competitive conditions will hit the exhibition business very hard, and we have seen a material slowdown in corporate conference business at The ICC."
