Having already launched in the US, MySpace Music will enable users to access free, ad-funded audio and music videos.

The new service aims to reposition MySpace as a social media music service, following increasing competion in the social network space from rivals such as Facebook. News Corp-owned MySpace has also run into difficulity during the recession, resulting in more than 300 job cuts in the past six months, including international managing director Travis Katz.

MySpace Music will provide music fans with unlimited free streaming and unlimited free playlisting from artists such 50 Cent, Kasabian and Alicia Keys. The service will also enable users to download, stream and personalise their music content, creating and sharing their playlists.

Users will also now be able to buy DRM-free music downloads of their favorite songs via Apple iTunes, playable on all digital music devices. For a seamless listening experience, music fans can also listen to their playlists on a personal online music player, while browsing MySpace or other websites.
