
Nickelodeon HD will launch on 5 October as a simulcast 24-hour channel on the Sky platform. It follows the introduction of an HD version of Comedy Central earlier this summer.
The UK version of Nickelodeon HD will be produced and broadcast by the company's local operation and will be available to all Sky HD customers who take the kids' pack as part of their subscription. Additional carriage deals will be announced in the future.

Nickelodeon, a joint venture with BSkyB in the UK, launched in 1993 and claims to reach more than 10 million UK viewers a month. It is available in 12.7 million cable and satellite homes.
MTV-Nickelodeon High Definition, MTV Networks' first HD service that launched in 2008, will no longer broadcast any Nickelodeon content and will focus solely on music, following the launch of the new channel.
Today (23 September), Nickelodeon announced that Jamie Rickers and Anna Williamson, the former 'GMTV Toonattik' presenting team, will star in a new weekend morning show, 'Jamie and Anna's Big Weekend', from 29 October.
