Motorola rolls out Motomash SMS drive through Flytxt

LONDON - Motorola is using an SMS promotion through mobile marketing firm Flytxt to drive footfall to its Motomash DJ events at Top Man retail outlets across the UK.

The promotion will be advertised on flyposters in major cities around the country and encourage consumers to text in for more info. Motomash fans then receive details about their local Motomash and can also download their own mashed music ringtones for free.

The Motomash DJ events form part of Motorola's £47m marketing deal with pan-European music broadcaster MTV.

Motorola and MTV have signed a three-year deal that will see MTV programming on Motorola's mobile phones, and joint events and retail promotions between the two companies.

As part of the deal, the mobile handset manufacturer will sponsor MTV Mash, a programme inspired by European bootlegging (or mashing) scene -- the mixing of old and new tunes to create cutting-edge new music.
