
Davies has been working at Trader Media as a consultant since the start of this year and before this was commercial director at Independent News and Media for a year.
Prior to his Independent role he worked at Associated Newspapers for over eight years as the sales director for the Mail on Sunday.
Reporting to Andy Hart, Davies will be in charge of display sales in the A&O division, overseeing agency and client direct sales, as well as custom solutions.
His appointment comes after Microsoft underwent a , incorporating its search engine Bing for the first time, alongside its MSN portal and other digital properties such as Hotmail and Messenger.
The restructure saw the appointment of as revealed by Media Week. to join Johnston Press as its chief executive.
