London's riverside venue The Mermaid has been chosen to host two BBC Radio Two broadcasts during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on 3 June.

Graham Norton and Jeremy Vine will present their shows from the Upper River Room, which has views across the Thames where 1,000 boats will process in a flotilla to celebrate 60 years of the Queen’s reign.

Norton will start his broadcast at 3pm and will present coverage until 5pm, followed by Vine whose timings are 5pm – 7pm. Special guests will visit both hosts during their shows to comment on the pageant and celebrations.

The Mermaid sits on the north bank of the Thames next to Blackfriars Station and offers views of the river, Tate Modern, Globe theatre, Millennium Bridge and The Shard from its two river rooms.

As reported in Event, including the repertoire for the ten floating music barges. One will hold the London Philharmonic Orchestra which will play pieces relevant to the buildings it passes, such as the James Bond theme music when it nears the MI6 building.
