The companies will work together over the next six months to make Melville’s internal and customer-facing services, including stand design and build, lighting, logistics, furniture hire and registration, available over a secure platform using Star’s cloud infrastructure.

Melville’s existing IT system was recently strained by some events which required over 100,000 people to register. It says the cloud-based switch will "overhall" the event industry, offering faster and scalable services.

Glenn Batty, CIO of Melville, said: "Our business is defined by our company vision, planning and executing customer requests right first time and on time. By transforming our current IT infrastructure, we will become the first cloud-enabled exhibitions and events service provider, which will enhance our user and visitor experience, smoothing the path to growth."
