MediaCom and Carat go through in £12m TUI media pitch

LONDON - TUI Travel has picked MediaCom and Carat to contest the final round of its £12m media pitch, after eliminating incumbents Walker Media and MPG.

is consolidating the off-line planning and buying accounts for its , and brands following its .

The incumbents were MPG on the £7m Thomson account and Walker on the £5m First Choice account.

also pitched for the business; its Manchester office handles TUI's direct-focused Portland brand, which is unaffected by the review.

Each of those agencies also handles the online spend, which is understood not to be part of the review but will be up for grabs later this year.

The review is being handled by Tim Williamson, director of product and marketing at TUI Travel, who was a marketer at First Choice before the merger.
