I would be a liar if told you all that I didn't get most of my industry gossip from those who have had a little tipple, or are partially inebriated.
It comes as no surprise that my friends in the media love a drink or two, but there comes a point when the temptation to indulge has to be resisted.
To ensure this temptation is completely quashed and it's staff don't crack open a sneaky beer or pour themselves a crafty glass of sauvignon blanc, Bitch has been informed that TalkSport refuses to stock alcohol in its newly refurbished kitchen.
But when some the of station's high-profile presenters have been known to fancy more than just a tipple, this is probably a wise move.
However, some of the staff may well resort to bringing in their supply hidden in plastic water bottles, after Bitch hears that all holiday has been cancelled at TalkSport until after next year’s Olympics.
A busy run of the Rugby World Cup, Premier League season, European Championships, and then the London Olympics means there will literally be no rest for the radio station’s staff.
On the fringe
Treating its friends to a night of high jinks, booze and comedy, Clear Channel made its annual pilgrimage north of the border for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. On the lucky guest list were representatives from Carat, Initiative, MediaCom, Posterscope and Mediavest.
Bitch hears that, sitting in a number of private booths, the feisty girls from MediaCom and Clear Channel's northern offices were repeatedly told to turn the volume down as the acts performed.
However, they and Clear Channel's Rob Atkinson had a lucky escape as the final act – who could no longer stand the interference – picked on MediaCom's Dan Sear to join her on stage.
Bitch was reliably informed that Sear took to the stage like a duck to water and performed heroically. Talking of animals, Bitch hears that Clear Channel’s own John "Cuddles" Keane found himself propositioned by a forward Scottish lass at the afterparty.
After her advances were spurned, she tried a different tack and told Cuddles that she was into animal sex. Fortunately, Bitch is told that Cuddles managed to escape the feline's paws.
