Hosted by The Royal Warrant Holders Association, the event will be held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace from 11-14 July 2013, showcasing the best of British with a daily exhibition and three evening gala concerts.
It will open to the public from Friday 12 July to Sunday 14 July, with a royal preview day by invite only taking place on Thursday 11 July.
More than 200 holders of Royal Warrants including Worcester Bosch, Austin Reed and Clarins have signed up to exhibit their products, taking over the whole site at the rear of the palace.
The festival will be split into four different zones: design and technology; food and drink; style pursuits and pastimes; and homes and gardens; with an additional area for The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, the charitable arm of the Royal Warrant Holders Association. There will also be interactive zones to inspire young guests, a catwalk show featuring sustainable designs and a picnic area.
Each evening from 12-14 July the building’s facade will form the backdrop to a coronation gala concert, celebrating cultural life during Her Majesty’s reign. The festival’s headline partners GlaxoSmithKline, Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover will each sponsor one of the evenings.
A total of 36,000 daytime tickets priced at £30 per person and 18,000 evening tickets costing £90 per person will be made available from 16 December. There will be no concessions for children.
Media 10 bid against seven other agencies to win the contract. Its managing director Lee Newton told Event the company has been working on the brief for the past two years and will be dedicating a bigger team than normal to manage the celebration.
"The event will be an opportunity for some spectacular brands to come together to promote their work and history in British innovation, design and craftsmanship to a global market – encouraging further investment and business to Britain. We are honoured to be involved in organising such a prestigious event," he said.
