Jason Stockwood joins Match.com as the UK internet dating market continues to experience rapid growth. In his role as UK MD, Stockwood will be responsible for the commercial development of the company’s two UK internet dating and relationship businesses, Match.com and Udate.com. He will also oversee the creation and management of new channels in the UK.

Stockwood created Travelocity Business EMEA in 2006 when he brought together the First Option (Hotel Reservations Agency - Manchester) and Travelstore (Travel Management Company - Amersham) under the Business brand.

Commenting on his appointment, Stockwood said: “I have a very exciting time ahead at Match.com. Online dating is a new market for me, but just like the travel sector it is fiercely competitive. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Match.com pioneered online dating in the US when it launched on the Web in 1995. Since then the company has grown internationally and in 2003, acquired UK based dating site, Udate.com. Today Match.com and its associated businesses lead the global internet dating market with more than 15 million members worldwide.
