as director of client strategy. At the time, MCM chairman Neil Crespin said that Maier’s leadership role would be "pivotal" to the agency’s growth.
Speaking to Event today, Crespin said although he is "disappointed" at the short amount of time Maier worked at MCM, the split was amicable. "We both decided the role hadn't worked out as envisaged," he said.
TFI Group general manager and director William Jeavons said: "We’re delighted to have attracted Simon to join the TFI Group, where his 20-plus years of expertise and respected skills will superbly complement our team."
Before his short stint with MCM, Maier spent two years at Grass Roots where he was client relationship and solutions director. He has worked in the live event and communication industries for more than 20 years.
"I’m grateful to MCM for the chance to work with them, albeit for a short time, but once I knew of the dynamic opportunity presented with TFI, with all its international possibilities, then I felt that this is the perfect place for me to be," said Maier.
Crespin said he has recruited a senior level industry figure to join MCM in the new year to replace Maier.
