
The Amazon-owned company is building on existing deals with the broadcasters, bringing more of their content to LoveFilm Instant, its streaming video on demand (SVOD) service, available as part of a package.
As part of the deal with BBC Worldwide, LoveFilm will be able to stream BBC titles from its archive, including 'Doctor Who', 'Spooks' and 'Frozen Planet' for the first time, across a range of devices including connected TVs, gaming consoles, mobile phones and tablets.
The BBC's commercial arm currently has a deal with LoveFilm that enables its users to rent DVDs by post. This marks the first time its content can be accessed on the LoveFilm player.
LoveFilm has also acquired more titles from ITV’s archive, including 'Prime Suspect', 'Inspector Morse' and 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl'. It currently allows users to stream fewer shows such as 'Cold Feet' and 'Inspector Morse'.

However, with BBC Worldwide titles due to reach the service in the next couple of weeks, LoveFilm has beaten Netflix to the punch.

Meanwhile BBC Worldwide is looking at new ways of distributing content online and and pay for them with Facebook credits.
