
Each speaker session, which will take place twice on the second day of the show, will include a discussion with Giles Toosey of CENT Consultants, who is also a non-executive director at AOK Events and worked with the commercial team on the Official Hospitality Sales Programme for The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland.
In Toosey’s talk, entitled ‘The Hospitality Minefield’, he will explore how event professionals can ensure they are buying the right corporate hospitality package from the right supplier or agency, while avoiding the concerns surrounding the changing perceptions about hospitality.
Sam Gill, chief executive of Story Events, organiser of the London Summer Event Show, will be chairing a panel session on the trends in team building, looking at whether these events should be competitive or collaborative, indoor or outdoor, physical or cerebral.
Will Broome, chief executive of London Launch, will chair the third speaker session entitled ‘Summer Food and Event Design’, looking at the growing popularity of street food, the rise in special diets affecting set menu selection, and whether a three-course seated meal is a thing of the past.
In addition to the speaker programme, a light-hearted and lively cocktails versus wines tasting session at lunchtime, headed up by Patrick Hobbs, operations manager at Camm and Hooper. He will be showcasing a series of summer cocktail drinks ideas.
Dominique Gill, show director, told Event: "We are focussing the show talks on latest trends in the key areas of the summer events market, with experienced experts on each panel. We have also extended the corporate day to 7.30pm to allow buyers to attend after work following review of the feedback from our Christmas Show."
She added more than 200 delegates have already signed up for the London Summer Event Show’s talks, and over 100 venues and suppliers will be represented at the event including Historic Royal Palaces, The Brewery, Bateaux London, Simply The Best Events, Ultimate Experience and Hurlingham Club.
