His appointment is part of an ongoing restructure at the design and brand communications company following eight acquisitions, including Spring which Hardy part owned, since June last year.
Hardy's priorities include continued integration within the firm as well as boosting growth.
"We are comfortably positioned to come in ahead of 2005 target revenues of £10m and 100-person head count. It is my goal to ensure that we move ahead into 2006 and beyond with the same energy and determination," Hardy said.
Other acquisitions include advertising agency Cortexx and retail catalogue and production specialist Parker Baines, which were snapped up in February.
Loewy chief executive Charlie Hoult added: "Ed's appointment and our newly defined management board structure mark the beginning of the next phase of Loewy's growth and development."
