The toolbars are supplied by Conduit, an Israel and US-based company which has just opened a European office in a bid to better serve local publishers, who have particular needs such as multi-language options.
Michael Crowder, operations manager at Liverpool Football Club, said: "We are now able to deliver our news and videos to fans anywhere they are on the web, as if they never left the Liverpool site. Our custom Conduit toolbar helps push out our best content in real time and raise awareness of our brand."
Trinity Mirror has toolbars for its 3am celebrity gossip site and its Mirrorfootball site.
Conduit offers the facility for free, as it makes money from a share of revenue arising from placing a Google search box in the toolbars.
The company's European managing director Ze'ev Rozov said the advantage of having a branded toolbar was it gives publishers an edge in the battle for share of the average 60 hours European internet users spend online.
