Liv signs Mitch Winehouse for bitesize show

LONDON - Liv, the new online TV channel from Living, has signed up the taxi driver father of Amy Winehouse in an exclusive deal that will see him present his own celebrity show - 'Mitch Winehouse's Showbiz Rant'.

The first show will be available online today at 4pm, with Liv promising an upfront take on the latest celebrity news and gossip.

Each 3.5 minute weekly episode will take place in Mitch's cab where he will be joined by a different guest passenger, from celebrities and famous journalists to Liv viewers with their own opinionated rants.

The first episode brings Mitch face to face with David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff to share thoughts on the perils of the music industry and the pressures of being a showbiz father, as well as talking about Shoreditch vampires and the Loch Ness monster.

Produced by Transparent, the series will last for 13 episodes, which includes a Christmas special on 24 December. After today's episode, the remaining shows will be broadcast each Thursday.

Amy Barham, channel editor for Liv said: "Mitch Winehouse is legendary for his forthright, no holds barred approach and we can't wait to hear his views on celebville.

"It is a coup to have secured Mitch exclusively for Liv and as a cabbie, showbiz father and gossip page regular we are sure he'll never be short of things to say.

"Exclusive commissions like this are the heart of Liv and this further reinforces our commitment to bring viewers content that they can't get anywhere else."

was created to provide a new online revenue stream for Living. It is aimed at a young, predominately female audience and provides exclusive short-form content.

It has been syndicated to IPC Media, which is hosting the show on its online properties such as Whatsontv.co.uk.
