LinkedIn to integrate with Microsoft email

LONDON - One week after announcing its Twitter partnership, LinkedIn has unveiled a deal with Microsoft that will see its social networking service integrated into Microsoft Outlook.

At its annual Developer Conference, Microsoft is currently previewing the Microsoft Outlook Social Connector that will come with Outlook 2010. 

LinkedIn is the first professional network to be integrated into Microsoft Outlook, a productivity tool that brings users communications history, as well as business and social networking feeds into Outlook.

Microsoft plans to integrate LinkedIn into the public beta release of Outlook 2010.

The integration allows users to maintain their professional network and stay current on their latest activities inside their inbox via Outlook Social Connector. 

Last week, to allow users to sync their social networking accounts so they can publish LinkedIn status updates on Twitter and vice versa in real-time.
