Kluster unveils application for consumers to name products

LONDON - Kluster has created a website that companies can use to get consumers to name their products.

Companies needing naming suggestions can post their product or service on at a cost of $99.

Over two days, members of the site then suggest names or indicate their favourite suggestion by another user.

Once the 48 hours has ended, NameThis.com calculates which three name suggestions have been the most popular.

Users who contributed to naming the product are then rewarded with a cash prize.

The user who suggested the top-rated name receives US$40 (£20) and $10 is shared among the users who chose it as a favourite.

Similarly, the user who chose the second-most popular name receives $16, while the influencers share $4. The user who picked the third-most popular name collects $8, while the influencers share $2.

claims: "NameThis makes the otherwise time-consuming process of finding a market-ready name quick and painless. Why spend time and money gambling on the ideas of a few, when you can have the market bounce ideas off of you?"

Kluster, which describes itself as a "crowd sourcing" firm, launched earlier this year.
