JCDecaux won the contract to manage and develop six-sheet advertising at Waitrose in November 2007 after a competitive tender and will now have outdoor media at 85 Waitrose sites across the country.
The expansion means JCDecaux will now offer scrolling six-sheet panels at additional stores in Bishops Stortford, West Byfleet, Beckenham, South Harrow, Sudbury, Tonbridge, Newmarket, Lichfield, West Ealing, Alcester, Haslemere, Leigh on Sea, Saxmundham, Torquay and Headington.
A spokesman from JCDecaux said the roll out of media in Waitrose stores follows a 100% expansion in the brand count carried by the Waitrose portfolio year on year.
Spencer Berwin, managing director of sales at JCDecaux, said the expanded footprint will provide advertisers with "even more access to the premium Waitrose audience".
Berwin said: "Waitrose is not only the fastest growing major grocer, with sales up by 11% last year and a 4% increase in retail space but their regular shoppers are spending more than ever which makes Waitrose an increasingly attractive proposition for advertisers across a wide range of categories."
JCDecaux recently consolidated the assets of Titan Outdoor into its main business having purchased them after Titan went into administration at the end of January.
At the time of the Titan purchase WPP specialist Kinetic estimated JCDecaux's share of the market to be approximately 29%, ahead of CBS Outdoor with 23%, Clear Channel Outdoor with 22% and Primesight with 12%.
