Cox has a wealth of media experience and first joined Titan Outdoor as marketing director in June 2008. Prior to joining the group, he worked at Viacom, and then at CBS Outdoor from 2000, as strategic planning director.
Before the move to outdoor, Cox was head of agency development at the Radio Advertising Bureau from 1992 to 2000. His first roles in media were on the agency side, as a TV buyer at The Media Business Group, and a media planner at GGT.
The majority of the Titan Outdoor sales and marketing staff members, including former Titan national sales director Ged Weston, have now moved across to JCDecaux's offices in Paddington.
Since the sale of Titan's assets to JCDecaux, senior Titan figures including chief executive Jon Slatkin, managing director Andy Moug, and business delivery director Madalyn Roker, have left the company.
Titan Outdoor had been in talks with a number of parties since last autumn, when it emerged that parent company TO Holdings was struggling to repay its significant global bank debt.
A management buyout attempt, led by Slatkin, failed to raise the financial backing to ensure the independent future of the company, and JCDecaux emerged as the preferred bidder with a materially higher offer.
The deal was structured as a pre-packaged sale out of administration on 18 January, after Titan formally entered into administration earlier that day, and JCDecaux took over the majority of Titan Outdoor's UK advertising inventory.
