Jay Stevens exits UK for MySpace US

LONDON - Jay Stevens, MySpace's vice-president of operations and sales for Europe, is set to return to his native US.

Stevens has accepted a role working with MySpace's international team at the social network's Los Angeles headquarters.

Stevens, along with senior vice-president of marketing Jamie Kantrowitz and product director Mitch McAlister, established MySpace's UK and European headquarters in London in 2005.

Since then, Stevens has built a high profile in digital marketing, educating advertisers of the commercial opportunities available on social networks and speaking at big industry events, such as the 2008 Cannes Advertising Festival.

Prior to joining MySpace, Stevens was international programmes director at email marketing company Silverpop.

MySpace lost UK managing director David Fischer in March this year. Anthony Lukom, previously director of strategic alliances and head of search commercial strategy at AOL Europe, succeeded Fischer.
