Visitors to the site, which offers a 30-day catch-up service of TV shows including Britannia High, viewed over 12.5m videos in October - a 550 per cent year on year increase. The rise represents a doubling of visitor numbers since ITV.com was relaunched last year.
Traffic to the Coronation Street section has increased by 115 per cent since September to 664,000 unique users and 2.6 million videos were viewed in October.
ITV Consumer managing director Jeff Henry said the site had around four million unique users when it relaunched last year, and had aimed to hit seven million by the end of 2008.
He attributed the increase in visitors to the ubiquity of broadband. ITV Local viewer numbers are also up 164 per cent since last year to 1.1m visitors.
Hitwise ranks the site number one for in the news and media - community directories and guides category.
Despite increasing viewer figures, ITV announced in August that it was pushing back its targets for achieving £150m in online revenues by two years to 2012.
