ITV1 trails 'Silent Witness' by 1.7 million viewers

LONDON - BBC One won last night's 9-10pm ratings battle after 'Silent Witness' pulled in 5.7 million viewers to 'The Bill''s 4 million, according to unofficial overnight figures.

ITV1 secured a viewing share of 16.6% to BBC One's 23.5%.

'Mock The Week' on BBC Two secured third place with 2.5 million viewers and a 10.2% share.

Channel 4's documentary about a mother who has 'Eight Boys and Wanting a Girl' managed 2.1 million viewers and a 10.1% share, including the contribution of Channel 4+1 ratings.

Five's 'Extreme Fishing with Robson Green' delivered 1.4 million viewers, getting a 5.8% share.
