ISES members are touring Dublin, Galway and Derry over the next two weeks and will tweet their experiences using the hashtag #TweeTour. It is a repeat of a collaborative event between ISES and Tourism Ireland last year.
The first two-day tour kicked off in Dublin yesterday (14 November) and it will continue in Galway on 21 and 22 November, and Derry between 28 and 29 November.
Celia Lavin, sales and marketing manager for Purple Grape, and Duncan Miller, new business director at George P Johnson UK, are currently touring ten venues a day in Dublin and sharing their views and experiences.
This year’s whistle stop tours will take in established venues such as Convention Centre Dublin, as well as Cliff Townhouse for oyster shucking and Galway’s Claregalway Castle, and up and coming event spaces and facilities such as the new seventh-floor suites at City Hotel Derry.
Jane Hague, ISES UK president and head of corporate account development at Excel London, said: "This is a great hybrid event which will give everyone on the trip as well as those following at home a real-time taste of the unique event sector in Ireland."
David Boyce, head of business and sports tourism Great Britain for Tourism Ireland, added: "We are keen to embrace innovative ways of communication, these twee tours allow delegates and visitors a unique opportunity to interact and experience our destination."
