IPC doubles frequency of Now Starstyle

LONDON - In a week that saw IPC Media close six magazines, the publisher has doubled the frequency of the celebrity style magazine Now Starstyle from twice yearly to quarterly.

The magazine, which was spun out of celebrity weekly Now, was first launched as part of Now's specials series in autumn 1998. It has since been published every spring/summer and autumn/winter. Its first edition as a quarterly will appear on the newsstands from November.

Earlier this week, IPC announced the closure of six magazines, including Your Life, the 74-year-old Women's Journal and Maire Claire Health & Beauty, with the loss of 115 jobs.

Now Starstyle features tips on celebrity hairstyles, beauty products, accessories and home design and will sell at £1.95.

Each issue will contain four profiles on major celebrities with the emphasis on how to get their look. It will also feature a spotlight on top designers and competitions to win a completely new wardrobe.

Editor-in-chief Jane Ennis said, "Starstyle has always been one of the most popular sections in Now magazine and it was a natural extension of the Now brand to develop the Starstyle series."
