The event industry's version of The X Factor - the Next Big Thing - was won yesterday (23 September) by a comedian with a routine based around the premise that he is an illegal immigrant.
Kev Orkian, who , scooped the prize of a contract with entertainment agency Sternberg Clarke and a £1,000 windfall.
He fought off competition from covers band The Hype in The Next Big Thing final, which was held at Event UK in Birmingham.
Orkian has been a stand-up for many years, and will this winter appear in panto in Bromley.
