Six acts confirmed for first heat of The Next Big Thing

This year's X Factor-style competition for the event industry, The Next Big Thing, is hosting its first heat at the ISES AGM on Thursday 15 July at Church House.

The competition, organised by UBM Live's Confex Group, will hold its first heat with six acts battling it out for a place in the semi-finals. The final will be held at Event UK from 21-22 September at the NEC.

This first heat at Church House will see the following acts take part:

Tootsie Rollers

Tony Rudd

Karla Bernardi

Dan Hewitt

Alternative Magic

Streetball Extreme

The winner of the entire competition will earn a £1,000 cash prize from UBM live and a contract courtesy of entertainment agency Sternberg Clarke.

Compering the entire competition is Event editor Jeremy King.
